How Our Class Works (Syllabus) Honors Spanish 3B
Our goals: 1. To read, speak, write and listen to Spanish fluently. 2. To learn about other peoples, cultures and traditions of Spanish speaking countries. This is a college level class and appropriate behavior, effort and achievement are expected. If you miss a class, you are expected to make up ALL OF THE WORK. Our rules: 1. Be respectful of others and their property. 2. Speak SPANISH in class as much as possible. 3. Do NOT talk when the teacher is talking. 4. Do NOT make fun of others of their mistakes. 5. Be to class on time (4 tardies=Saturday school). 6. NO i-pods, cd players, MP3 players, calculators, CELL PHONES, or any other electronic device, allowed in class. Our consequences: 1. Warning 2. Call/and or e-mail home& student in hall for rest of period. 3.Referral/Contract to correct behavior (Depending on the infraction the teacher may use her discretion to skip to # 2 or #3) Required Materials: You must bring the following things to class EVERYDAY:

***Destinos workbook inside the blue notebook. Do NOT write in the workbook. If you write in the workbook at all you will owe $35.00 to buy a replacement workbook. If you lose or damage your school issued blue 1 inch notebook you will owe $3.00 for a replacement.
*** Pencils and blue or black pens
*** Lined paper
*** Spanish/ English dictionary (get one ASAP if you don’t already have one)
***Homework and assignments

Expectations: 1. This is a college credit class so make sure you are in class, participating, on task and speaking Spanish as much as possible. Attendance of this class is crucial!!!!!!!!! 2. On all papers put your first name, last name, period, date and title of the assignment. 3. If you are absent for an assignment write “ausente’ at the top and turn it in. You have the number of days absent to make up your work (school policy). If you are gone you need to look in our “class assignment” book for what you missed. You also may look on my blog for what we did the day(s) that you missed. On my blog there also is a link to watch any missed Destinos episodes).
4. You may look at your e-sis grades on-line anytime.
5. All assignments must be in pencil, blue or black pen ONLY. 6. Do not throw away any work during this course. This is an on-going class. You will
need to keep all paper 7. This class will be graded on the following:
Tests/Quizzes
Projects Written work (both in class and homework) Oral situations Participation (speaking Spanish) Final

8. The grading scale is as follows:
Spanish 3Bx

A= 100-90%
B= 89-80%
C= 79-70%
D= 69-60%
This is a college credit class. You must register to get the college credits with Clackamas Community College during the open registration period on the computer.
Spanish 3A= Spanish 101 (4 CCC College credits)
Spanish 3B= Spanish 102 (4 CCC credits) AND Spanish 103 (4 CCC credits)
TOTAL college credits for Spanish 3A and 3B is 12 CREDITS
***Whatever grade you earn in this class (A, B, C, D or F) is the grade that you will receive for your college credit.

9. Tests MAY NOT be redone because this is a college credit class. So be ready to take the test on the scheduled date.

10. After each test, grade printouts will be passed out. You also may look on ESIS parent assistant (which is on the Canby High School web site) for your grade. I will update grades as time permits.
11. Because this is a college credit class, late work IS NOT ACCEPTED and you can expect homework every night.
12. Due to the fact that this is a college class a limited amount of EXTRA CREDIT will be given.

13. To leave this class you must ask the teacher in Spanish, fill out the pass (on the lanyard) and take it with you.
14. If you would like help outside of this class please make an appointment ahead of time so I am for sure available for you. I am only on campus second and third periods.
