    Speech Team Wins DistrictsMarch 14, 2011I'm pleased to report that the Speech & Debate Team took 1st place at OSAA Districts Saturday! Ten Canby students will be advancing to state (and most will compete in two or more events).

    Danner Marshall - 1st in After Dinner Speaking, 2nd in Poetry, Alt. in LD Debate
    Sam Petshow - 2nd in After Dinner Speaking, 1st in Public Debate
    Hannah Lambert - 1st in Radio Commentary, Alt. in Expository
    Briar Burt - 1st in Expository, Alt. in Poetry
    Bethany Chupp - 4th in Prose, 1st in Poetry
    Jonah Baker, 3rd in Impromptu, 1st in Public Debate
    Mason Herson-Hord - 2nd in Oratory, 2nd in Extemporaneous, and 1st in Public Debate
    Terran Sobel-Smith - 1st in Public Debate, Alt. in Humorous
    Also Emily Kraxberger and Kate Thomas earned a place at state in Student Congress.
